Our face is often the first thing others notice when they meet us, and unfortunately, it’s also the area most exposed to the elements. Because of this, facial skin can be the first to suffer damage, and aging can lead to a dull complexion with lines and uneven skin tone. The sun, air pollutants, and time all weak havoc on unprotected skin. With the simple, natural procedure that utilizes your own healthy growth factors, we can help correct the negative effects of aging, sun damage, and exposure, so you can make a great first impression at any age.
Ageless Medical’s highly qualified medical practitioners provide Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) treatments to revitalize the youthful qualities of your face. These all-natural treatments stimulate collagen, which reduces wrinkles, improves skin tone, and leads to a healthy glow. PRP is blood plasma enriched with platelets, and it can be injected into your skin or infused topically via microneedling.
Through a simple process called centrifugation, growth factors and cytokines are harvested from your own blood. When infused into your skin through microneedling or injection, PRP triggers the production of collagen and elastin in the treated areas. These vital growth factors and proteins add volume to the skin, resulting in a thicker dermis and improving the appearance of fine lines and facial creases over time. And because we use your PRP to benefit your skin, this treatment is completely natural and has no adverse reactions.
At Ageless Medical, PRP can be delivered through microneedling, with Vivace, following laser treatments, or via direct injections. We have found that a series of 3-4 PRP treatments provides optimal results. And with a variety of methods available, our expert medical practitioners can make the best recommendation for your individual needs and goals.
Our medical practitioners who perform PRP at Ageless Medical are top experts in injectables and aesthetics. Their skill is matched by the top-level centrifugation equipment we selected for offering PRP treatments. Every growth factor found in the harvested blood to be used in a PRP treatment has different benefits. For instance, the Epidermal Growth Factor is responsible for regulating, proliferating, and differentiating cell growth during the skin tissues' remodeling phase. The Transforming Growth Factor promotes the angiogenesis phase involving the production of new blood vessels. Meanwhile, the Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor is important in both angiogenesis and vasculogenesis, as well as in the growth of blood vessels.
Other growth factors like keratinocytes, interleukins, macrophages, and fibroblasts stimulate wound healing of damaged tissues and the regeneration of new skin.
- As a topical infused during mirconeedling or Vivace treatments
- As an injectable to boost healing and stimulate collagen production
- Scars including acne scars
Often to enhance the effects, we will combine your PRP injection with PRP SkinPen microneedling or the new Vivace microneedling and radiofrequency treatment. For example, we use both procedures together for the rejuvenation of the under eye areas. The combined procedures deliver similar yet heightened benefits. After a course of PRP injections with microneedling, the under eye areas become tighter, fuller, and revitalized.
PRP is also very effective in recovery and rejuvenation of your skin when used as a topical treatment following our fractional laser resurfacing treatment.
For optimal results, we recommend at least 3 PRP treatment sessions, spaced apart by 6 to 8 weeks.
Most patients experience some mild swelling for a day and redness for 2 to 3 days after the procedure. The redness can usually be covered by makeup, and most patients can return to work within 1 to 2 days after the procedure. Bruising can happen, especially if PRP injections are used during the procedure. Most of the time, bruising is mild and can be covered with makeup. Duration of bruising varies with the individual, but is rarely more than a week. Although patients may experience some mild discomfort during the procedure, there is no pain after a PRP treatment.
When performed with microneedling, Vivace, or laser treatments, PRP can actually speed healing and minimize downtime.
