From dryness and fine lines to acne and scarring, women and men of all ages experience skin issues, and a lot of them are caused by clogged pores and an outer layer of dead skin cells. In the past, microdermabrasion could offer significant exfoliation, but it did nothing to hydrate the skin, which could actually lead to new problems. When you want to look your best, having clear, glowing skin is a must. And with hydra-dermabrasion, it’s also a possibility.
HydraFacial Skin Resurfacing is a revolutionary hydra-dermabrasion technology for all skin types that leads to no discomfort, no downtime, and no irritation. A huge advance over microdermabrasion, hydra-dermabrasion resurfacing exfoliates dead skin cells and extracts impurities while simultaneously restoring skin hydration, leaving the skin suppler and more vibrant. Best of all, because cleansing, exfoliation, and hydration happen at the same time, the entire treatment takes just 45 minutes.
HydraFacial allows you to choose from three skin-enhancing serums: skin rejuvenation, acne-prone treatment, or antioxidant treatment. This medical-grade facial provides noticeable results and works well alone or in combination with other skin resurfacing treatments such as with laser skin resurfacing or microneedling. Unlike abrasive microdermabrasion, HydraFacial also offers the option to infuse chemical peels and to deliver collagen and human growth factors into the skin without the typical post-treatment redness. Clients often enjoy the benefits of HydraFacial before important social engagements such as weddings or photo sessions. If you want to reveal healthier, refreshed skin, hydra-dermabrasion will get you glowing.
The HydraFacial procedure consists of four steps:
01. A cleanse and gentle, crystal-free microdermabrasion to exfoliate and remove the outer layer of dead skin.
Depending on your skin type (dry, normal, oily, or acne-prone), the practitioner will apply serums that help to exfoliate and deeply cleanse your skin.
02. An extraction process.
The HydraFacial’s special continuous cycle makes extraction a comfortable part of the treatment.
An optional process where a chemical peel is infused into your skin once the outer layer is compromised from steps 1 and 2.
Adding key nutrients and antioxidants into your freshly exfoliated pores.
Microdermabrasion is the procedure in which the outermost surface of the skin is partially removed by light abrasion. The fresh skin just below the surface is then exposed, creating a glowing new complexion. Microdermabrasion is used to remove sun-damaged skin and to remove or lessen scars and dark spots on the skin. It is also used in the treatment of fine lines, acne, acne scars, and enlarged pores, as well as to improve the texture of the skin.
Although this treatment has many benefits, professional microdermabrasion can bruise or discolor the skin if done incorrectly. The vacuum action tends to cause blemishes if the skin tension is released or uneven. The lip area is particularly susceptible to bruising, and the eyelids should never be treated with microdermabrasion. Treatment that is too deep or intense can cause permanent discoloration to the skin. For this reason and because hydra-dermabrasion is much more effective for fine lines and wrinkles, we no longer offer microdermabrasion in our office.
