Save Your Skin - Collagen Regeneration the Absolute Answer to Younger Looking Skin

September 15, 2009

I have friends and family members ask me, “Really – what have you seen in your 8 years of cosmetic aesthetic experience that will help my skin look like it was when I was in my 20’s?” The answer is using products and procedures that help trigger the regeneration of your skin’s collagen. The faster you can get your skin to regenerate its collagen, the younger your skin will look. There are 4 ways to speed up your skins collagen rebuilding process:

Physical Exfoliation. This is probably the most basic form of collagen regeneration. Receiving a physical exfoliation treatment such as microdermabrasion or using a hand-held home exfoliation device such as the new Clarisonic Pro encourages healthy cell turnover.

Chemical Exfoliation. Salicylic, lactic, glycolic, and retinoic acid are just some of the acids that are used in chemical peels to exfoliate the skin. Chemical Peels can vary in strength to produce mild peeling or deeper peeling. In milder percentages these acids are also available in at-home products (via prescription medical grade cosmeceuticals) to cleanse and treat your skin on a daily basis. Chemical exfoliation can be a more aggressive, but effective way to regenerate your skin.

Physical & Chemical Exfoliation. Advancements in technology have made it possible to both physically exfoliate and chemically exfoliate simultaneously with the procedure Hydra- Dermabrasion. is innovative treatment off ers both processes in just 30 minutes. HydraDermabasion is so effective because after the outer layer of your skin is compromised, the chemical peel is infused and thus the acids can penetrate deeper. HydraDermabrasion is the most cost-effective and pain-free way to accomplish both exfoliation methods and deliver incredible results.

FRAXEL®. By far the most effective way I have seen to trigger the regeneration of collagen is by using FRAXEL® laser resurfacing. The FRAXEL® laser delivers microscopic columns deep into your dermis to create tiny wounds. This process expedites your body’s remodeling of collagen and elastin, which results in tighter, fresher, more youthful-looking skin. The results are stunning. Many places claim to do FRAXEL® resurfacing, but they actually use an inferior laser or light device.
