Is there any downtime following a PRP treatment?

Most patients experience some mild swelling for a day and redness for 2 to 3 days after the procedure. The redness can usually be covered by makeup, and most patients can return to work within 1 to 2 days after the procedure. Bruising can happen, especially if PRP injections are used during the procedure. Most of the time, bruising is mild and can be covered with makeup. Duration of bruising varies with the individual, but is rarely more than a week. Although patients may experience some mild discomfort during the procedure, there is no pain after a PRP treatment.

When performed with microneedling, Vivace, or laser treatments, PRP can actually speed healing and minimize downtime.
